Hello family!
I'm so happy that you all had such a fun time at the Halloween party! I have
decided to be a missionary for Halloween. It's great! I found a name tag a
bike and a bunch of copies of The Book of Mormon. But they are in French so that
kind of throws everything off but just ignore that part. Its going to
blow peoples socks off!! I am so impressed with everyone's costumes!! Not going to lie, they made me a
little home sick. I may have gotten a teary eyed.
This week
was pretty good. Unfortunately we didn't have anyone at church. Maggie
didn't come. That made me pretty sad but hopefully she will come next week. We are
kind of having a slow moment right now when it comes to people
progressing. Jean Luke hasn't really been reading and the other people
that we are working with are just very slow and very hesitant.
But we
had a miracle this week!! We had fasted this last Sunday to have more
success and have more members involved with the missionary work and Thursday night we get a call from Fred saying that he is with his
sister and that she wants to meet the missionaries. Fred! The
missionary machine!! His wife is Sandy, the lady that I was in the
picture with. So we made an appointment with her for the next day. We
get there and she was with her nine year old daughter. We introduced ourselves and then asked if we could fold her
laundry that was on the couch. So she lets us and then we ask to do her dishes. We do those and then ask what else we could do she had us go get
the vacuum from the shed in the back and we spent the next 40 min vacuuming her ceiling and the corners of her house But that time we had to go so we asked her
to read 2 Nephi 28 and 29. She said that she doesn't want to read the Book of Mormon because she thinks it just talks about Joseph Smith. So we quickly
explained to her that it talks about Jesus. Then we made an appointment
to come back the next day. We went back and thought that we would just
be teaching her her daughter and her husband but she had invited her
WHOLE family over for dinner. Like ALL of Fred's family. His mom
and his sisters, and some family friends. We didn't get a chance to have a
real lesson with them but she said that she read the verses and we explained who we
were. We are going back to see her this Saturday again. Fred
talked to us after and said that he hadn't introduced her to missionaries
for the past 5 years and that he thinks we might be the ones to really
get to her. Pretty cool. So I'm excited to see where that goes.
We will
be having Zone Conference next week and having the islands of St. Maarten and Martinique come here to join us. So I will get to see Sister Crompton!!!!!! We went to college together.
Well, I love you all and have a great week!
